Dr Amy Bonsall

Artistic Director (Education and Research) Dr Amy Bonsall is an experienced and accomplished international theatre director. She holds a PhD from the University of Leeds, for which her thesis was awarded formal recognition for achieving research excellence.
Her areas of research include but are not limited to: Intercultural theatre, Intercultural Shakespeare, Malawian Theatre and African performance more generally, Malawian theatre audiences and women in theatre. She is also interested in the methodologies of practice-led and practice-as research and in teaching methodologies more widely.
Amy has delivered workshops and lectures at the University of Manchester, the University of Chester and the University of Mzuzu with lectures at the University of Warwick forthcoming. She has delivered papers at conferences in the U.K and abroad and regularly publishes research, edits and does peer review. She designs and delivers practical drama/ performance workshops as well as formal academic lectures and courses to your required specification and would be delighted for you to contact her about any aspect of her research or her work with Bilimankhwe.
She is currently a visiting lecturer at the University of Chester and an associate researcher at the University of Manchester and is also the founder and director of the global Women in Academic Support Network #WIASN www.wiasn.com
